I bought one of these a while back because I thought it was something that could be used in a lot of different and helpful ways—and I was right. One of the ways I was planing to use it was as a gear hammock. After tinkering with it under the hammock, to the side of the hammock, and over the hammock (but under the tarp), I settled on placing it over the hammock. But, while that allows me to set the hammock up at a normal height off the ground, it forces me to set my tarp up higher than normal which can be difficult depending on the hang and can also expose you to the elements a bit more depending on the size of your tarp. So, I recently got to thinking that since it is waterproof I could possibly hang it separately from the hammock and outside the tarp while still having the contents protected from rain (as long as I wrapped everything up properly. BUT… I wanted to confirm that is correct before I tried it out and learned the hard way that I had made a bad decision. Normally I keep my backpack and my shoes in it to keep them off the ground and from getting wet. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.
